Ibuprofenum-Tabletten USP enthalten den Wirkstoff Ibuprofenum, welches (±)-2-(p-Isobutylphenyl)propionsäure ist. Ibuprofenum ist ein weißes bis cremeweißes, kristallines Pulver mit einem Schmelzpunkt von 74 bis 77°C und ist sehr gut löslich in Alkohol, in Methanol, in Aceton und in Chloroform, wenig löslich in Ethylacetat, praktisch unlöslich in Wasser. Die Strukturformel ist unten dargestellt: Ibuprofenum-Tabletten USP, ein nichtsteroidales Antirheumatikum (NSAR), sind in 400 mg, 600 mg und 800 mg Tabletten zur oralen Anwendung erhältlich.
