MSM Bio-Available Sulfur 1000 mg by Protocol For Life Balance is a dietary supplement in the joint and bone category. Dimethyl sulfone (DMSO2) is an organosulfur compound with the formula (CH3)2SO2. It is also known by several other names including methyl sulfone and (especially in alternative medicine) methylsulfonylmethane (MSM). This colorless solid features the sulfonyl functional group and is the simplest of the sulfones. It is relatively inert chemically and is able to resist decomposition at elevated temperatures.

Cautions and Interactions MSM is generally held to be nontoxic. Animal studies have yield no observed adverse effect at ingestion of 1.5 grams per kilogram bodyweight for 90 days. MSM is not related to sulfa drugs.
