This medication is an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor, prescribed for high blood pressure either alone or with other medications. Lowering high blood pressure helps prevent strokes, heart attacks and kidney problems. This medication is also used to improve survival after an acute heart attack and with other drugs (e.g., diuretics, digoxin) to treat congestive heart failure.
⚠️ Warnings
•Caution should be exercised in patients with history of kidney disease, liver disease, high blood levels of potassium, heart problems, severe dehydration ,diabetes, strokes, autoimmune diseases, pregnancy and breastfeeding.
• Drink adequate fluids to prevent from becoming dehydrated.
• It may cause dizziness, lightheadedness, or fainting; alcohol, hot weather, exercise, or fever may increase these effects. Get up slowly from bed.
• It may lead to development of a serious adverse effect in which the patient experiences rapid swelling of the hands, face, lips, eyes, throat, or tongue; difficulty swallowing or breathing; or unusual hoarseness.
