What is Midazolam used for?

This medication is a benzodiazepine, prescribed for preoperative sedation, anxiolysis and amnesia. It works by slowing activity in the brain to allow relaxation and sleep.

Serious effects - Decreased tidal volume and respiration rate. Gastrointestinal - Nausea, increased appetite and vomiting. Central nervous System - Reduced alertness, confusion, emotion, hallucinations, fatigue, dizziness, incorodination, post-operative sedation and memory loss. Miscellaneous - Jaundice, irregular heartbeat, shock, headache and cough.

Does Midazolam interact with other medications?
