Bisoprolol is an antihypertensive agent from the group of selective beta-blockers, used for the treatment of hypertension, angina pectoris, hyperkinetic heart syndrome, and chronic heart failure. The tablets are usually taken once daily in the morning before or with breakfast. The most common possible adverse effects include slow heart rate, fatigue, dizziness, headache, sweating, low blood pressure, and gastrointestinal disturbances.
Bisoprolol (ATC C07AB07) has antihypertensive properties. It is cardioselective (beta-1) and has no membrane-stabilizing or intrinsic sympathomimetic activity. Bisoprolol has local anesthetic properties, reduces cardiac activity, and lowers myocardial oxygen demand.
