Bisoprolol

Bisoprolol is an antihypertensive agent belonging to the class of selective beta-blockers, used in the treatment of hypertension, angina pectoris, hyperkinetic heart syndrome, and chronic heart failure.‍​‍‍‍​‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍​‍ The tablets are usually taken once daily in the morning, before or with breakfast. The most common possible adverse effects include slow heart rate, fatigue, dizziness, headache, sweating, low blood pressure, and gastrointestinal disturbances. Bisoprolol (ATC C07AB07) has antihypertensive properties. It is cardioselective (beta-1) and has no membrane-stabilising or intrinsic sympathomimetic activity. Bisoprolol has local anaesthetic properties, reduces cardiac activity, and lowers myocardial oxygen demand.
