Betamethasone dipropionateis aglucocorticoidsteroidwithanti-inflammatoryandimmunosuppressiveproperties. It is applied as atopicalcream, ointment, lotion or gel (Diprolene) to treatitchingand other skin conditions such aseczema. Minor side effects include dry skin and mild, temporary stinging when applied.Betamethasone dipropionate is a "super high potency" corticosteroid used to treat inflammatory skin conditions such asdermatitis,eczemaandpsoriasis. It is a synthetic analog of the adrenal corticosteroids. Although its exact mechanism of action is not known, it is effective when applied topically to cortico-responsive inflammatory dermatoses.It is available as ageneric medication.
⚠️ Warnings
• Caution should be exercised in patients with history of measles, chickenpox, shingles, viral skin infection, thinning of the skin, cutaneous tuberculosis (TB), perioral dermatitis, acne, rosacea any allergy, who are taking other medications, children less than 1 year old, during breastfeeding.
• For external use only; avoid contact with eyes.
• Do not use on the face, underarms, or groin areas without your physician’s advice.
