( ARTG ) INDICATIONS AS AT 13 JAN 2005 : ALCAINE Eye Drops are indicated for procedures in which a rapid and short-acting topical ophthalmic anaesthetic is indicated such as in cataract surgery and suture removal from the cornea, and in tonometry, gonioscopy, removal of corneal foreign bodies, conjunctival scraping for diagnostic purposes, and other short corneal and conjunctival procedures.
