This medication is an antiestrogen, prescribed for breast cancer. It is also used for infertility, gynecomastia, ductal carcinoma either alone or with other medications. It blocks the actions of estrogen.

Most Common - Swelling in the extremities, depression, dizziness, lightheadedness, headache, hair thinning and/hair loss and vaginal dryness. Miscellaneous - Hot flashes, fluid retention, vaginal discharge, nausea, irregular periods, weight loss, skin changes and abnormal decrease in platelet counts.

• Caution should be exercised in patients with history of high cholesterol level, vision problems, high levels of calcium in blood, poor immunity, decrease in white blood cells or platelets, who are taking cytotoxic cancer medicines, any allergy, during pregnancy and breastfeeding. • It may cause dizziness, do not drive a car or operate machinery while taking this medication. •
