Aksoderm Forte is a topical dermatological ointment containing retinol palmitate (vitamin A palmitate) at 1000 IU per gram — a 2.5x higher concentration than the standard Aksoderm formulation. Retinol palmitate is hydrolysed in the skin to free retinol and subsequently oxidised to retinaldehyde and all-trans retinoic acid, which binds nuclear retinoic-acid receptors (RAR alpha/beta/gamma) and regulates keratinocyte proliferation and differentiation, sebocyte activity and dermal extracellular matrix remodelling. ATC class D10AD02 (topical retinoids for acne). The Forte strength is intended for short-term, more intensive treatment of keratinisation disorders and dry, hyperkeratotic skin where the standard 400 IU/g preparation provides insufficient effect.
⚠️ Warnings
Use the smallest amount needed to cover the affected area — increased concentration increases irritation potential. Avoid eyes, lips, mucous membranes and nostrils. Avoid intensive sun exposure and use broad-spectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen during therapy and for 1 week after stopping. Reduce frequency or stop if marked erythema, peeling or burning develops. Do not apply to broken or acutely inflamed skin. Pregnancy: avoid — topical retinoids are precautionarily contraindicated. If irritation persists despite frequency reduction, switch to the 400 IU/g formulation or discontinue treatment.
