What is DNA used for?

What are the side effects of DNA?

Common (>1%): injection site reactions (pain, redness, swelling), fever, fatigue, headache, irritability in children, gastrointestinal disturbances (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea). Uncommon (0.1-1%): myalgia, arthralgia, dizziness, upper respiratory tract symptoms. Rare (<0.1%): serious allergic reactions including anaphylaxis, thrombocytopenia, neurological disorders, autoimmune conditions. Most side effects are mild and resolve within 2-3 days.

Who should NOT take DNA?

• Known hypersensitivity to hepatitis B vaccine, yeast, or any vaccine component • Severe acute febrile illness (vaccination should be postponed) • Previous severe allergic reaction to hepatitis B vaccination • Severe immunodeficiency states (relative contraindication - reduced immune response expected) • Pregnancy (relative contraindication - use only if clearly needed) • Severe cardiovascular or pulmonary compromise where fever reaction could pose risk

This is a recombinant hepatitis B vaccine containing hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) produced using recombinant DNA technology. It provides active immunization against hepatitis B virus infection in children and is formulated as a single-dose pediatric suspension for injection.

⚠️ Warnings

WARNINGS: If pregnant or breast feeding, ask a health professional before use. Consult a physician for use in children under 12 years of age. Keep out of reach of children. In case of overdose, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away. Do not use if tamper evident seal is broken or missing. Store in cool, dry place.
