Becozinc by Dr. Reddy's is a dietary supplement in the mineral category. Zinc is a chemical element; it has symbol Zn and atomic number 30. It is a slightly brittle metal at room temperature and has a shiny blue whitish appearance when surface oxidation is removed. It is the first element in group 12 (IIB) of the periodic table. Zinc is the 24th most abundant element in Earth's crust, with an average concentration of 70 grams per ton. Zinc also has five stable isotopes; the most abundant of which, Zn-64, comprises nearly half of zinc's total abundance.

Precautions Before using Becozinc capsule, inform your doctor about your current list of medications, over the counter products (e.g. vitamins, herbal supplements, etc.), allergies, pre-existing diseases, and current health conditions (e.g. pregnancy, upcoming surgery, etc.). Some health conditions may make you more susceptible to the side-effects of the drug. Take as directed by your doctor or follow the direction printed on the product insert. Dosage is based on your condition. Tell your doctor if your condition persists or worsens. Important counseling points are listed below. Administration of folic acid alone is improper therapy for pernicious anemia and other megaloblastic anemias in which vitamin B12 is deficient Avoid alcohol consumption, especially if having alcoholic cirrhosis Avoid alcohol intake while treating with niacin Avoid taking in empty stomach Do not use if suffering from stomach ulcer Do not use if you are planning to be pregnant Drink plenty of liquids Interactions with Becozinc capsule If you use other drugs or over the counter products at the same time, the effects of Becozinc capsule may change. This may increase your risk for side-effects or cause your drug not to work properly. Tell your doctor about all the drugs, vitamins, and herbal supplements you are using, so that you doctor can help you prevent or manage drug interactions. When not to use Becozinc capsule Hypersensitivity to Becozinc capsule is a contraindication. In addition, Becozinc capsule should not be used if you have the following conditions: Allergic reactions Breastfeeding Hypersensitivity Intolerance to the drug Leber's disease Pregnant Severe renal impairment Severe renal impairment Overdosage of Becozinc capsule Do not use more than prescribed dose. Taking more medication will not improve your symptoms; rather they may cause poisoning or serious side-effects. If you suspect that you or anyone else who may have overdosed of Becozinc capsule, please go to the emergency department of the closest hospital or nursing home. Bring a medicine box, container, or label with you to help doctors with necessary information. Do not give your medicines to other people even if you know that they have the same condition or it seems that they may have similar conditions. This may lead to overdosage.
